What is AQL and how does Pacod compute it?

AQL is the acceptable quality limit — the number of defects a lot may contain and still pass. Pacod computes it live on ISO 2859-1, General Level II, as the inspector works.

No manual lookup tables and no arithmetic at the end of a long shift. Sample size follows the lot size, the accept and reject numbers appear before the first unit is checked, and the running verdict updates with every defect logged.

What are dual accept numbers?

Two thresholds shown side by side — major and minor — with zero tolerance carved out for critical defects, so nothing critical passes on a technicality.

A lot can be within the major allowance and still be rejected on a single critical finding. Showing both numbers at once means the inspector and the buyer read the same limits, in the same place, at the same moment.

How does AI vision work on defects?

Defect photographs are classified automatically, and rectification is verified against the original image, so the record reads the same whichever inspector wrote it.

The value is consistency rather than autonomy. A human still logs the defect; the classifier removes the drift between two inspectors describing the same broken stitch two different ways.

What happens when an inspection fails?

A corrective action request is raised with a visible deadline: 24 hours inline, 72 hours at final, 96 hours pre-shipment.

The CAR carries the defect photo, the owner at the plant, and the clock. Closure is evidenced with a rectification photo and verified buyer-side. Nothing closes because someone said it did on a call.

How is the quality score calculated?

From AQL results, defects per hundred units, corrective actions and measurements — recorded checks only, never a self-declaration.

Because the score is built from the plant’s own recorded work, it belongs to the plant and travels with it into its next order conversation. That is the reason a factory has to gain from recording honestly.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Inspections queue on the device and upload when signal returns.

Factory floors in Tiruppur and Gazipur do not have reliable connectivity, so the field app never assumes it. Photos, measurements and AQL all compute on the device.

How does shipment clearance work?

The buyer’s accept or reject decision drives whether a style is cleared to ship. The decision and the evidence live in the same place.

A merchandiser does not have to be called. The status sits on the style record, with the inspection that produced it and the corrective action it triggered.
